Glycyrrhiza glabra is an herbaceous legume that is native to the Middle East, southern Europe, and India. Licorice, sometimes spelled liquorice, is a favorite ingredient to sweeten herbal tea blends. Native to Western Asia and Southern Europe. Licorice root, which is considered one of the world’s oldest herbal remedies, comes from the root of the licorice plant.
