Bugleweed is native to North America and has been historically used by selective herbalists for its healthful properties. Considered energetically cooling and bitter, bugleweed herb is prepared as an infusion.
Historically, bugleweed and related species were used to treat coughs and as a sedative. Today the main use of this herb is for treating mild hyperthyroidism and menstrual problems.
